With the recent expansion of age eligibility for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), one of the most frequently asked questions from both employers and employees is:

“Am I eligible if I have a group benefits plan?”

According to the eligibility guidelines outlined on the CDCP website, individuals are only eligible for the plan if they do not have access to any type of dental insurance or coverage. This includes:

  • Coverage through your own employment benefits
  • Coverage through a family member’s employment benefits
  • Any type of Health or Wellness Spending Accout
