Ontario Taking Next Steps to Protect Primary Care

Ontario is investing over $110 million to connect up to 328,000 more people to team-based primary care. This includes expanding or creating 78 interprofessional teams made up of doctors, nurse practitioners, social workers, and other health professionals.

Part of the province’s “Your Health” plan, this move aims to reduce wait times and improve access to care closer to home. Once implemented, over 98% of Ontarians are expected to have access to primary care.
